The 2nd Amendment can be found within the pages of the United States Constitution. More specifically, the 2nd Amendment can be found in a section of the United States Constitution called the Bill of Rights. The 2nd Amendment is one of the twenty-seven Amendments that are found in the Bill of Rights. The 2nd Amendment was so eloquently given its name because it was the second amendment to be added to the Bill of Rights. Each Amendment, including the 2nd Amendment, were written in order to most accurately compile the rights that the people of the United States should have. The Second Amendment is a part of a compilation of the most important governing values to the American people. The Second Amendment is a part of a rich history that defines the freedoms that are entitled to all in the nation. Just like all the Amendments, the Second Amendment has been passed down for many generations in attempt to make a better quality of life for all. The Second Amendment was created in order to ensure that people had the freedoms that they needed, still lending way for everyone’s happiness and acceptance.
1. The 2nd Amendment was created in order to give the people of the United States the right to bear arms. The Second Amendment was input into the United States Constitution on December 15, 1791. The 2nd Amendment allows for the bearing of arms; however, there are state sanctions that have been developed after the Second Amendment that describe the exact firearm laws in your state. Although the Second Amendment may give you the right to bear firearms, there are certain state regulations that strictly define exactly what kind of firearms that you are allowed to bear in that particular jurisdiction.
2. The 2nd Amendment gives us the right to bear arms, but there is also a certain criteria that one must meet in order to bear firearms. There are distinct qualifications that specify exactly what the qualifications are to carry a firearm. The Second Amendment does not define that distinct criteria because it varies from state to state. Under certain circumstances, there are people that do not qualify to bear firearms even though the Second Amendment says that they have the right to do so for several different reasons. For instance, minors and some convicted felons are not eligible to bear firearms.
3. Additionally, even though the 2nd Amendment gives us the right to bear firearms, it is quite clear that this is under certain conditions. Even with the documentation that is found in the Second Amendment, most states in the United States that allow you to bear certain firearms require that you have a license in order to own and carry them.
